About the Role

Ontario Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Program Manager to lead complex initiatives related to patient and provider navigation. The successful candidate will support the Director, Digital Navigation in implementing navigation strategies that improve customer experience outcomes for providers and patients using Ontario Health's digital services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and develop effective communication and interaction strategies with various stakeholders, including senior leaders, funders, executives, and external government stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement formal change management methodologies and practices to drive behavioral changes.
  • Create performance evaluation approaches and be accountable for the successful outcomes of the program, which is typically province-wide.
  • Collaborate effectively within the team and provide leadership, subject matter expertise, guidance, and support to work towards a common goal and to help coach and inspire others.
  • Provide client service to internal teams and external stakeholders, including government and other partners in the delivery of the health system.
  • Provide thought leadership for the strategy and execution of the program.
  • Lead change within the context of the overall program, often working with peer roles in the execution of the change.
  • Coach program stakeholders and partners on program aspects and execution.
  • Make decisions, with the support of Director level, where results have major impact across the organization requiring sophisticated solutions and long-term correction.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Health Studies, Public Administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management or related professional designation as an asset.
  • 7 – 10 years of overall experience in related roles with progressively increasing scale and scope of execution authority up to a leadership role.
  • Experience in the health care sector and the public service, and existing relationships are preferred.
  • Extensive experience in contract and budget management, and experience with standard terms and conditions.
  • Experience working in a hybrid environment, equally comfortable working with teams online or in person.
  • Experience planning and leading large meetings.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of the application of the Project Management LifeCycle and Software Development LifeCycle, as well as modern mode two ways of working (e.g., Agile/Scrum).

  • Strong communication skills, including comfort influencing others who have conflicting interests, and where information may be sensitive or controversial; navigate crucial conversations in high-risk situations.
  • Strong knowledge translation skills with the ability to understand complex technical projects in context and communicate meaning to various audiences.
  • Ability to use discretion in dealing with sensitive issues and maintaining appropriate levels of confidentiality.
  • Strong relationship and consensus-building skills.
  • Strong contract negotiation and management skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects concurrently.
  • High degree of professionalism, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Ability to be delivery-focused and passionate about achieving the program objectives with an internal sense of accountability.
  • Capacity to be aware of, control, and express one's emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically.
