MacEwan University is seeking an experienced Strategic Initiatives Coordinator to join the Office of the President. This full-time continuing position will report to the Chief of Staff and be responsible for leading, coordinating, and implementing projects and events that support the institution's strategic vision and priorities.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief of Staff to identify, develop, and refine projects and initiatives, and maintain ownership of assigned projects throughout their life cycle. This will include project planning, execution, monitoring, reporting, and debriefing.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating with the Chief of Staff to identify, develop, and refine projects and initiatives.
  • Maintaining full life cycle ownership for projects and initiatives.
  • Building effective working relationships across the university.
  • Raising urgent and/or sensitive issues and providing recommendations to the Chief of Staff.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in public policy, business, communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years progressively responsible professional experience in strategic planning, project management, or a related role.
  • Training or certification in project management is an asset.
  • Experience in a post-secondary or related public sector environment is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other common office programs.
