Transfer Credit Specialist

The University of Toronto is seeking a highly skilled Transfer Credit Officer to join our team. As a key member of the Office of the Faculty Registrar, you will play a critical role in evaluating courses from other academic institutions for transfer credit purposes.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate domestic and foreign academic documents to assess credentials against University equivalencies
- Review and assess student requests to attend other Universities on Letters of Permission
- Track departmental transfer assessment decisions
- Apply established standards to ensure adherence with transfer credit rules and guidelines
- Provide consultation and advice on the application of University policies and procedures
- Oversee the data collection and analysis processes
- Implement plans and process improvements for records administration activities
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
- Minimum four years of recent and related experience working in a registrar department, with demonstrated knowledge of educational systems and international credential assessment
- Demonstrated knowledge of domestic and international post-secondary educational systems
- Experience analyzing domestic and foreign academic documents
- Experience and sound knowledge of best practices in transfer credit and enrolment
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of applying University policy and procedures
- Demonstrated experience and ability with developing and maintaining web-based information and applications
- Demonstrated experience with various systems, including database and spreadsheet applications
- Excellent interpersonal, communication skills (both verbal and written), with proven ability to interact effectively with a variety of stakeholders
- Excellent judgement and analytical skills
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability using databases/spread sheets
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness
- Ability to prioritize and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
