Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Transfer Specialist to join our team at Service Corporation International. As a Transfer Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and respectful transportation of deceased individuals to their final resting place.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Transfer and Transportation: Safely drive company-owned vehicles to perform transfers of deceased individuals, adhering to local and state/provincial laws, as well as company policies and procedures.
  2. Collaboration and Communication: Cooperate with first responders, coroners, hospital staff, and senior living facility staff to accommodate their processes and procedures.
  3. Family Interaction: Interact with bereaved family members in a courteous and professional manner, exhibiting sensitivity to their environment and minimizing conversation.
  4. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Enter deceased event information into proprietary software according to company procedures.
  5. Vehicle Maintenance: Wash, vacuum, and clean vehicles to ensure they are presentable, fuel vehicles as necessary, and follow safety guidelines and expenditure processes.
Requirements
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Experience: At least one year of work experience as a courier or driver, with direct customer interaction strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to work a schedule to support business needs, including weekends and nights, and ability to lift up to 75 pounds and push/pull up to 200 pounds.
Work Environment
  • Work Conditions: Work indoors and outdoors during all seasons and weather conditions, and comply with Field dress code policy.
  • Physical Demands: Frequent, continuous periods of time standing, up to 6 hours per day, and climbing stairs to access buildings frequently.
