Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is $80,000 - $110,000 CAD, depending on experience. This compensation package includes comprehensive benefits, opportunities for professional growth, and a chance to be part of a dynamic team that's shaping the future of agriculture.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute all HR functions for the Guelph Farm, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, talent development, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop and execute HR plans and programs that align with the business goals of GoodLeaf Farms and corporate People strategies.
  • Provide guidance and support to the management team on all People matters, including employee relations, performance management, conduct investigations, and talent development.
  • Manage the recruitment process, including creating job postings, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and making job offers.
  • Provide onboarding and orientation to new team members, ensuring they have a positive impression of GoodLeaf Farms, are introduced to the larger team, and receive the necessary training and tools to succeed.
  • Manage disability claims (WSIB) and advise management on next steps.
  • Work with the larger HR Team to help develop and maintain HR policies and procedures that comply with labour laws and regulations.
  • Lead the performance management process, including coaching hiring managers on conducting performance reviews, setting goals, and identifying development opportunities.
  • Manage employee engagement initiatives, including employee surveys, recognition programs, and events.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • ~5+ years of experience as a Senior HR Generalist or HRBP preferably in fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations in Ontario and Canada.
  • Proven track record of successful recruitment, sourcing, and placement of new hourly and salaried hires.
  • Experience managing HR projects and initiatives from inception to completion.
  • Experience managing WSIB claims.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive HR decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications, fluency in French is an asset.
  • Strong understanding in OHSA is an asset.
  • CHRP designation is an asset.
