Strategic Supply Chain Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Supply Chain Operations to join our team at Interior Health Authority. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strategic and operational relationships with internal and external partners.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor performance and hold the provincial supply chain accountable for meeting service level agreements and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Identify persistent or critical challenges and leverage lessons and insights from clinical and operational teams to drive improvements and optimize operations, performance, and costs.
- Represent Interior Health at governance committees, including the Provincial Health Services Authority's Category Management and Supply Chain Operations Committees.
- Provide input into shaping the provincial supply chain strategy, policies, and metrics, while advocating for the unique and nuanced needs of Interior Health.
- Ensure Interior Health's requirements are represented for evaluation of contracts and product selection, and operational logistics improvements.
- Remain informed of end-to-end supply chain processes and leading practices to set a standard for strategic solutions, initiatives, and plans of the provincial supply chain to meet Interior Health's goals and objectives.
- Engage key internal partners in initiatives to identify opportunities and implement solutions to ensure operational efficiency and standardization across Interior Health, and in some cases, across the province.
- Gather and present Interior Health's concerns, needs, and other positions at governance committees and to senior leadership of Interior Health and provincial bodies.
- Build and maintain relationships with partners across the BC health authorities to cultivate collaboration and align improvement efforts.
- Collaborate and negotiate with the Provincial Health Services Authority's Chief Procurement Officer and Chief Supply Chain Officer.
- Lead and participate in change management actions to transform supply chain practices for efficiency, standardization, and best practices.
- Develop recommendations, briefs, and other communications to support decision-making.
- Recommend, develop, and maintain Interior Health policies and procedures for supply chain, procurement, and logistics in alignment with any provincial guidelines or requirements.
- Develop and implement human resources and financial practices, planning processes, and information technology systems.
- Manage the communications and political considerations around supply chain issues and decisions impacting Interior Health operations.
- Provide oversight and direction for operational policies and procedures for a corporate fleet of over 200 vehicles, distributed across the IH region, and be accountable for allocating resources, financial planning, approval of budget recommendations, and remedial strategies related to fleet operations.
- Accountable for developing and recommending budget and monitoring expenditures, variance analysis, and reporting, and recommending remedial action in partnership with external and internal parties, as it pertains to Supply Chain across Interior Health.
- Develop and present to Interior Health leadership, including the Strategy and Risk Management Committee, policy, risk, strategy, and operational recommendations to optimize the utilization and effectiveness of the corporate fleet.
- In alignment with Interior Health's Occupational Health & Safety Program, maintain a healthy and safe work environment through complying with and implementing applicable Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, responding to requests from WorkSafeBC, identifying hazards and communicating risks, ensuring compliance with employee training, conducting effective incident investigations, and implementing required corrective actions.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in supply chain operations and management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.
- Proven ability to analyze complex data and develop recommendations to drive improvements and optimize operations, performance, and costs.
- Experience in governance committees and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to represent Interior Health's interests and advocate for its needs.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes and leading practices, with the ability to set a standard for strategic solutions, initiatives, and plans of the provincial supply chain.

The salary range for this position is $116,591 to $167,600. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.
