Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Program Coordinator to join the Mental Health and Substance Use team in Vancouver.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the team, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping.
  • Assist with the coordination of programs and services, including scheduling appointments and managing calendars.
  • Provide receptionist duties, including answering phones and responding to inquiries.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports and other documents, including statistical records and program planning materials.
  • Provide support to clients, including greeting and providing resource information.
  • Assist with the maintenance of statistical records and program planning materials.
  • Edit and proofread documents, including correspondence and reports.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Grade 12, graduation from an approved program in Medical Transcription and/or Medical Office Administration Certificate, plus one (1) year recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of community, social and mental health resources.
  • Knowledge and experience in providing culturally competent support services specifically pertaining to aboriginal people.
  • Knowledge and experience in Trauma Informed Practice, Harm Reduction and Recovery Oriented care.
  • Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize.
  • Ability to keyboard 5,000 keystrokes per hour.
  • Business writing skills.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
