Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Operations Manager to join our team at QAI Laboratories. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our laboratory operations, ensuring the highest level of quality and efficiency in our testing and inspection services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction to the laboratory team, ensuring that all operations are conducted in accordance with QAI's policies and procedures.
  • Act as the local designee for making decisions on testing and operations, ensuring that all activities are aligned with QAI's strategic objectives.
  • Assist in matters related to QAI's accreditation and resolution of customer complaints.
  • Ensure that the laboratory meets all quality management system and accreditation requirements.
  • Responsible for local supervision of testing activities and efficiency of work performed.
  • Assign work and monitor staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standard.
  • Approve invoices, bills, and other expenditures in accordance with QAI's purchasing policy.
  • Recommend capital equipment, accreditation scope expansions, and business opportunities.
  • Ensure that the laboratory follows all safety and employment regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years' experience in a management or supervisory role, with a minimum of 10 years' experience working in a relevant testing field.
  • Demonstrated history of managing diverse teams, effective problem-solving, planning, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience managing a P&L and creating strategic plans to support business development.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and travel to local and international destinations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an ISO 17025 accredited testing laboratory.
  • Knowledge of USA and international building product and/or electrical products standards and codes.
  • Registration or ability for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) is useful but not mandatory.
