Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Paralegal Instructor to join our faculty. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching our Paralegal courses, which are registered with the Ministry of Colleges and Universities. As a valued member of our team, you will be expected to adhere to our policies and procedures.

The Instructor Manual will provide you with all the necessary courseware, resources, evaluations, and daily lesson plans. Your primary responsibility will be to follow these guidelines and utilize the provided materials to equip our students with the required knowledge and skills to succeed in their future careers.

We place great emphasis on professionalism and excellence in classroom instruction, coupled with hands-on training.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. You will demonstrate a thorough understanding of the field and convey this knowledge to our students effectively.
  2. Your teaching methods will strictly adhere to pre-authorized and provided materials.
  3. You will employ a diverse range of teaching strategies, including lectures, presentations, demonstrations, discussions, laboratory work, case studies, independent projects, and group activities.
  4. You will use adult teaching and learning strategies to communicate complex subject matter to our diverse student body.
  5. You will administer and mark quizzes, assignments, exams, and other assessments to monitor and evaluate student progress according to established guidelines and procedures.
  6. You will provide constructive feedback on student performance and return marks promptly.
  7. You will facilitate feedback sessions with students at the end of each course to gather their opinions on the instructor, content, and facilities.
  8. You will be sensitive to the needs and individual circumstances of our students in a multicultural environment.
  9. You will resolve student complaints and concerns with a positive and professional attitude.
  10. You will maintain accurate attendance records.
  11. You will ensure that classrooms are left clean and orderly at the end of each class without damaging any equipment or resources.
  12. You will provide support to our admissions team by answering questions from potential students about the program and future career prospects.
  13. You will participate in scheduled meetings and annual events like graduation.
  14. You will maintain confidentiality of student information and adhere to data protection regulations.
  15. You will engage in ongoing professional development to stay current in your subject area.
  16. You will display a collaborative approach and problem-solving skills in your work.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  1. You should possess knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database systems.
  2. You should have excellent oral and written communication skills to present complex information in a clear and concise manner, adapting to different learning styles.
  3. You should possess professional business attire and interpersonal skills to serve as a mentor and role model.
  4. Immigration experience would be beneficial.
  5. You should have at least two years of working experience as a Paralegal.
  6. Prior teaching experience, preferably in the same field, would be advantageous.
Qualifications
  • You should have a minimum of 48 months of work experience in the relevant vocation OR
  • You should have 36 months of teaching experience in the vocation and 24 months of work experience in the vocation OR
  • You should have 24 months of work experience in the vocation AND one of the following qualifications:
    • A Bachelor's degree from a Canadian university or an equivalent qualification
    • A graduate degree from a College of Applied Arts and Technology or an equivalent institution
    • A graduate degree from a registered OCC or an equivalent organization

In addition to meeting the above requirements, you must also fulfill the Instructor qualification standards outlined in the Regulations to Career Colleges Act, 2005.

Please note that you will be required to teach on-site at our Brampton campus as per the designated schedule.

You must be a licensed paralegal or lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario, or an Immigration Consultant in good standing with CICC.
