Senior Emergency Department Manager

Lakeridge Health is seeking a highly skilled Senior Emergency Department Manager to lead our emergency department team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our emergency department, providing exceptional patient care, and fostering a positive work environment.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or a related field, current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, and significant recent emergency nursing experience. Proven project management skills, effective communication, and problem-solving abilities are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and lead the activities of the emergency department, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Ensure staff resources are aligned to deliver high-quality patient-centered care, including recruitment, staffing, and scheduling.
- Operationalize the success of the department by participating in the grievance process, anticipating barriers, and setting performance goals.
- Support the Patient Care Manager in managing attendance, patient experience, and WeCare reports processes.
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or a health-related discipline.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current BCLS, ACLS, PALS certification preferred.
- Canadian Association Nursing Emergency Nursing Certification preferred.
- Proven significant recent emergency nursing experience in initiatives and project management.
- Proven evidence of ongoing education (e.g., workshops, seminars).
- A competitive salary ranging from $120,000 to $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
