Job Description

  • We are seeking a Claims Specialist to join our team in Ottawa, Ontario. As a Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting customers with their auto insurance claims.

Salary

The estimated salary for this role is $47,900 - $71,900 CAD per year, depending on experience.

Job Requirements

  • You will have at least one year of claims adjusting experience, although we welcome applicants without specific claims experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills are required, as well as the ability to analyze evidence and identify discrepancies or gaps in data and reports.
  • Demonstrated support for company process improvements is also essential.
  • Candidates actively pursuing their Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation and/or other relevant continuing education are preferred.
  • Provincial claims licensing may be required.
  • Bilingual (English and French) written and verbal skills are required for Quebec-based applicants.

What You'll Do

You will represent TD Insurance as an Auto Claims Advisor and assist in facilitating and coordinating a claim from start to finish.

Making an Impact

  • You will gather, organize, and verify required information and documentation from all available sources to ensure a thorough and complete compilation of facts to resolve claims.
  • You will reconcile estimates from new and preferred vendors to ensure appropriate settlements are reached for damages sustained to a customer's vehicle.
  • You will contribute to team productivity objectives by maintaining a positive file count and open/close ratio.
  • You will collaborate with internal partners and stakeholders as well as external vendors such as Enterprise and repair shops.

  • You will research coverage scenarios and apply this knowledge to customer claim files.
  • You will learn and demonstrate our customer-centric and strategic objectives while contributing to TD Insurance Group's deliverables.
