Job Summary

Menzies Aviation is seeking a dedicated and experienced Ramp Lead Agent to join our team. As a key member of our airport operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient ground handling operations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of ground handling agents in the unloading and loading of luggage, freight, and cargo on and off commercial aircraft.
  • Operate specialized equipment and commercial vehicles, including heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and stretching.
  • Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags.
  • Oversee a crew of 3-5 agents and brief them before flights on bag loads, positions to take, and flight operations.
  • Responsible for safe push back and communications with the flight crew during push back.
  • Responsible for all flight crew/gate crew paperwork before and after departure.
  • Oversee all operations at their gate/flight.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and legally able to work in Canada.
  • Must have high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record; must be able to pass DA training.
  • Must be able to hold and maintain all required airport security clearance.
  • Reliability, our customer and your fellow employees rely on you.
  • Capable of lifting comfortably 70 lbs.
  • Prior ramp experience a plus.
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions, work is primarily outdoors.
