Societe Generale, a leading global bank, offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled Risk Governance Expert to join its Model Risk Management team in Montreal.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the consistent implementation of the Model Risk Governance framework across all models at Societe Generale in the Americas. This includes managing and maintaining the AMER Model Inventory, implementing policies and controls, and overseeing model risk assessment and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the enhancement of the AMER model risk appetite and management framework definition
  • Engage model owners/users/developers for the collation and ongoing maintenance of the SG AMER Model Inventory
  • Manage the model approval process and administration
  • Coordinate with Model Validation teams for the firm's models
  • Perform quality controls on independent reviews performed by Validation teams
  • Implement model risk governance processes and reporting
  • Participate in the preparation of materials for regulators and internal/external audit

Requirements:

  • Minimum three years of experience in Model Risk Management related areas
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of Model Risk regulatory requirements (SR11-07) and industry standard practice
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to implement change and positively influence adoption
  • Good understanding of risk metrics and model risk controls
