Fleet Parts and Services Coordinator Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Fleet Parts and Services Coordinator to join our team at Norfolk County Garage.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Schedule maintenance services and repairs for the County Garage fleet, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
  2. Purchase and manage inventory of parts and components for fleet repairs and maintenance, maintaining adequate stock levels.
  3. Coordinate with technicians to ensure equitable workload distribution and efficient service delivery.
  4. Source specialty parts for various County units, including Fire and EMS vehicles, ensuring availability.
  5. Track high-usage parts and maintain sufficient inventory levels to minimize downtime.
  6. Perform light building housekeeping and grounds maintenance duties, maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
  7. Research and procure materials for stock and non-stock items, ensuring competitive pricing and quality.
  8. Update and maintain WHMIS inventory system for the Fleet Department, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  9. Assist in unloading and storing materials, including hazardous materials, ensuring safe handling and storage practices.
  10. Complete required paperwork and reports, including work orders, daily logbooks, and other documentation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the Fleet Department.

Requirements: A minimum of a two-year diploma or degree in a related field, such as Inventory Management, Automotive Parts and Service, or Motive Power, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 3 years of related experience, preferably in a fleet maintenance or dealership environment. Current Skilled Trades Ontario Certificate of Qualifications and certifications are considered an asset. A G Class license is mandatory, and a valid DZ or AZ driver's license is considered an asset.

Skills and Abilities: Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to respond immediately to emergency situations. Computer expertise in corporate standard software (Microsoft Office) and department-specific software, with the ability to create and modify documents. Ability to creatively find solutions to solve sourcing and supply issues, with knowledge of safe work practices and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). Purchasing authority as required according to Policy #s EBS-02 and EBS-06.
