An Overview of the Pacific Canada Operations Role at BBA

 

BBA is a leading organization that offers exciting career opportunities to seasoned professionals. We are currently seeking an experienced Pacific Region Operations Director who will play a pivotal role in driving our growth and success in British Columbia and the Yukon Territory.

 

The successful candidate will oversee, manage, and grow consulting operations across the province, ensuring seamless integration of engineering, field, and consulting practices. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Pacific Region Operations Director will be responsible for optimizing operational efficiency and advancing strategic initiatives to support the organization's growth.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic business development initiatives to pursue high-value projects, ensuring long-term growth and profitability for the region.
  • Develop and execute the regional operations plan in line with the firm's goals, collaborating with the COO and other executives.
  • Develop and implement a risk management plan to mitigate operational risks and ensure business sustainability.
  • Build and maintain strong governance relationships with clients, external consultants, regulatory authorities, and industry partners.
  • Oversee engineering activities across multiple locations, ensuring top-tier performance, quality, and safety to enhance the firm's competitive edge.
  • Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor regional performance.
  • Manage and monitor budgets, resources, health and safety, project delivery, and go-to-market strategies to achieve operational objectives within performance targets.
  • Manage operational efficiency of processes, applying best practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ensure all engineering, field, and consulting activities comply with federal, provincial, and local regulations and standards.

 

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in engineering or consulting operations, with at least 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing engineering, field, or consulting projects and operations across multiple locations in both OPEX and CAPEX project types.
  • Solid understanding of the Canadian heavy industry market, especially in the energy and natural resource industry.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Asset: bilingual (English and French), both spoken and written.

 

We offer a highly competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, based on education, qualifications, and relevant experience.
