Senior Buyer

Lantic Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our team. As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for managing and supporting the purchasing process of goods and services for our Vancouver facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute all purchasing requests for non-production items.
  • Manage and purchase production items such as packaging material and chemicals.
  • Support Major Maintenance Requests and CAPEX projects.
  • Local Contracts: connect with stakeholders to analyze commercial offers, survey current contracts, and lead negotiations.
  • RFQs: analyze and challenge suppliers to improve landed cost.
  • Maintain excellent business relations with current suppliers.
  • Research, analyze, and qualify new sources of purchasing.
  • Support internal customers in achieving their objectives.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams and activities in connection with Purchasing.
  • Evaluate suppliers on a yearly basis.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and improvement initiatives.
  • Report cost savings and cost avoidance monthly.
  • Participate in the annual budget process.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in purchasing/procurement or administration or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years' experience in a Purchasing position.
  • Knowledge of suppliers for maintenance and services.
  • Excellent knowledge of Office, Outlook, Maximo, Navision.
  • Knowledge and adherence of ISO, HACPP, and FSSC22000 programs considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of the packaging products market is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of commercial terms related to purchasing contracts and of technical aspects of Purchasing & Procurement.
  • Key knowledge of the market for maintenance parts.
  • Excellent knowledge of both Canadian and Global markets for sourcing supplies in the industrial sector.
  • Strategic thinker, strong ability to solve problems and define action plans.
  • Results oriented.
  • Autonomy, good priority management, sense of responsibility.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
