About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Global Mobility Program Lead to join our team. Reporting to the Manager, Global Mobility, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day activities of OMERS' global mobility programs.

This includes providing ongoing guidance to internal stakeholders on immigration, tax, relocation matters, and vendor relationships. You will also be responsible for conducting initial high-level immigration assessments, managing visa and work permit expirations, and proposing strategies to mitigate tax risks associated with international assignments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead as the authority on global mobility issues, including policies, processes, immigration, tax matters, legislative changes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct initial high-level immigration assessments and manage all aspects of global visa and immigration support.
  • Identify potential tax risks associated with international assignments and propose strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Provide guidance on tax implications for international assignments, including social security, taxability, and payroll reporting.
  • Cultivate and enhance partnerships across various functions to manage all phases of the mobility cycle (pre-secondment, on-secondment, and repatriation).
Requirements:
  • University degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 4 to 7 years of experience in global mobility or expatriate taxation.
  • Knowledge of international payroll, immigration, employment, and tax issues is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make well-judged decisions under pressure and solve complex issues related to international assignments.
