Salad Bar Department Head

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Salad Bar Department Manager to join our team at Fortinos. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient functioning of the Salad Bar department, providing customers with the best quality products, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of Salad Bar staff to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries, requests, and complaints, ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Maximize sales and gross profit, ensuring sales goals and budgets are met.
- Organize and maintain the department, ensuring proper signage and displays are in place.
- Work closely with the Produce Manager to minimize shrink and maximize reprocessing.
- Order, receive, and inventory merchandise, ensuring accurate stock levels.
- Hire and train part-time staff, ensuring a high level of customer service.
- Schedule staff to meet business needs, ensuring strict control of wage costs.
- Interpret and administer company policies, ensuring compliance with the union contract.
- Ensure the maintenance of equipment and the safety and sanitation of the department.
Requirements:
- Three to five years' experience in the retail Produce industry.
- Prior management experience is a definite asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work a variety of hours, including days, evenings, night shifts, and weekends.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
- Minimum Grade 12 Diploma.
