Top Heart Failure Cardiologist Position at University of Toronto

The Department of Medicine, University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time Academic Cardiologist-Heart Failure Specialist. This appointment will be eligible for an academic position at the University of Toronto with a position description as a Clinician Teacher, Clinician Investigator or Clinician-in-Quality and Innovation at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor.
This is a 50-75% clinical role with 25-30% dedicated to research, teaching, quality improvement initiatives, and/or administrative duties. We seek candidates with broad clinical, teaching, quality improvement, and research experience in heart failure and cardiac intensive care.
Candidates must demonstrate excellence in quality improvement, teaching, and research. Quality improvement excellence will be assessed by dissemination of successful practices, invited presentations, awards, accolades, and other related accomplishments. Teaching experience will be measured by a strong track record of interests and excellence in resident and fellow education, formal training in teaching methodology, awards, leadership as a clinical educator, and other relevant experience.
Research excellence will be evaluated based on research grants, publications in leading journals, invited presentations at significant conferences, awards, accolades, and other related accomplishments.
The selected applicant will join the Division of Cardiology, one of the largest divisions within the Department of Medicine. As a major provider of tertiary and quaternary cardiac services and leader in less invasive structural heart interventions, the Division serves as a regional cardiac referral centre for many complex cardiac procedures.
Responsibilities include excellence in clinical care of both in-patients and out-patients, liaison with primary care, supervision of trainees in clinical care settings, formal teaching, and scholarly achievements.
The successful candidate will receive remuneration commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, and experience. They will also be eligible for membership in the Sunnybrook Department of Medicine Association through which clinical billings and benefits will be administered.
