Ozanam Recovery House is a recovery home in Kelowna that provides support to men struggling with addiction and mental health issues. We are a project of the Society of St Vincent de Paul and are partnered with BC Housing, licensed through the Assisted Living Act of British Columbia.

We are seeking casual support workers to work on-call, typically to cover full-time staff vacation or sick days. As a casual support worker, you will be responsible for providing daily support to residents in developing a support network they can utilize while they move toward their recovery goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement residents' plans and assist with medications
  • Report on progress and establish working linkages with other community service networks
  • Provide daily support to residents and assist with daily living tasks
  • Maintain effective collaborative working relationships with community resources and service providers

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of community resources and service providers
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to function as a team player and follow direction
  • Sound judgment and good initiative
  • Ability to respond to crises and urgent response situations
  • Maintenance of certification in First Aid and Food Safe
  • Criminal record check through the Criminal Records Review Program
