Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at the John Howard Society of Okanagan & Kootenay. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to individuals and families in need, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to clients, helping them to develop coping strategies and build resilience.
  • Assist clients with daily tasks and activities, such as grocery shopping and meal preparation.
  • Help clients to access community resources and services, such as healthcare and education.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans, working with clients to set and achieve goals.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers and counselors, to provide comprehensive support services.
Requirements
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
