Key Responsibilities- Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement to achieve a smooth finish.
- Operate power vibrators to compact concrete and ensure it is properly set.
- Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification to ensure accuracy.
- Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools, such as trowels and screeds.
- Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other fixtures to secure concrete structures.
- Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces and protect them from the elements.
- Waterproof, damp proof, and restore surfaces to ensure durability and longevity.
- Repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures to maintain their integrity.
- Tamp concrete using electric vibrators to remove air pockets and ensure a solid finish.
- Operate jackhammers and drills to break up pavement and prepare surfaces for new concrete.
- Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt to achieve the desired finish.
- Measure lumber to ensure specified thickness, length, and width to ensure accuracy.
- Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades to facilitate construction.
- 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the concrete finishing industry.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to perform physically demanding tasks, including bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs) and work in a dusty and noisy environment.
- Steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, and gloves are required.
- Accurate and flexible with a strong work ethic.
- English language proficiency.
- 40 to 50 hours per week, with a seasonal work term.
- Rural and urban areas, including commercial and residential settings.
- Work site environment: dusty, noisy, and outdoors.
- Work setting: sidewalks and curbs, poured concrete, and other construction sites.
- Accurate and flexible with a strong work ethic.
- English language proficiency.
- 40 to 50 hours per week, with a seasonal work term.
