About the Role

We're seeking a seasoned Senior Product Marketing Lead to join our team at Shopify, driving go-to-market initiatives for our innovative Developer Platform. As a key member of our Product Marketing team, you'll be responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive demand and adoption for our platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of developer needs, market trends, and the product roadmap to inform go-to-market strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop cohesive narratives around features and products.
  • Craft compelling product narratives and positioning that differentiate our platform strategy.
  • Work closely with Product Management, UX, Engineering, Marketing, Support, and Creative teams to establish audience segments, shape our strategic narrative, and drive successful product launches.
  • Develop and execute campaigns for new products, features, and updates, driving ongoing product adoption and engagement.
  • Produce high-quality storytelling content for developer audiences, including case studies, webinars, and blog posts.
  • Partner with senior executives to shape thought leadership and support keynotes at our flagship developer event.
  • Conduct research on target audiences to inform segmentation, narrative development, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Set the bar for excellence in product marketing to developers, inspiring the rest of the PMM team with innovative tactics.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in B2B, product-led SaaS organizations.
  • Experience marketing to developer audiences, with the ability to connect with audiences at their level of expertise.
  • Excellence in product marketing craft, including positioning, messaging, data analysis, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Expertise in driving research, narrative development, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Proficiency in synthesizing complex product strategies into compelling narratives and actionable messaging.
  • Knowledge of how narratives come to life in different marketing channels.
  • Proven success in developing developer-facing messaging and content, and leading successful product launches.
  • Ability to create strong partnerships with product, marketing, and commercial teams.
  • Experience in managing senior stakeholder relationships.
  • Understanding of how to adapt product narratives and messaging for multiple regions globally.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity and self-starting attitude, with a willingness to ask questions and use answers to bring clarity and direction to the team.
  • Ability to thrive in chaotic environments and make decisions quickly.
