Payroll Specialist

Laurel Steel, a leading supplier of cold-finish bar, cold-drawn wire, and mesh products, is seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the payroll processing function, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Federal and provincial laws.
- Process weekly salary payroll, monthly Defined Benefit Pension Plan, and special payments as needed.
- Review and verify payroll data, analyze trends, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate with Human Resources on pension, RRSP, and group benefits administration.
- Prepare payroll-related filings, supporting documentation, and period-end reports.
- Manage relationships with external payroll vendors and provide excellent customer service to employees.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role.
- Post Secondary Diploma.
- Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) certification required.
- Experience processing payroll through Ceridian Dayforce.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Proven communication and organizational skills.
