Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Compensation Specialist to join our team at Laurel Steel. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our payroll processing function, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Processing weekly salary payrolls and monthly Defined Benefit Pension Plan
  • Reviewing and verifying payroll data, ensuring accuracy of employee information
  • Processing special payments as needed
  • Maintaining compliance with federal and provincial payroll laws and internal policies
  • Analyzing payroll data to identify trends and areas for improvement
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Post-secondary diploma or equivalent
  • Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) certification required
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce payroll processing software
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
