Job Title: Community Ministries Coordinator

The Salvation Army is seeking a Community Ministries Coordinator to provide services to family services clients in a compassionate and caring manner. The successful candidate will work in partnership with the Community Ministries Officer & Program Coordinator to plan and implement existing and future programming for individuals, families, and children and youth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with ensuring that ministry objectives are consistently accomplished and applied to all outreach program initiatives.
  • Work in partnership with the Community Ministries Officer & Program Coordinator to plan and implement existing and future programming for individuals, families, and children and youth.
  • Support frontline initial intake of all Family Service clients and assess client needs in consultation with the Community Ministries Officer & Program Coordinator.
  • Provide services to meet client needs or refer clients to other appropriate community agencies.
  • Assist with volunteers as directed by the Community Ministries Officer or Program Coordinator.
  • Attend community meetings on behalf of Family Services program as directed.
  • Assist with all programs including Christmas programs and special events.
  • Responsible for the coordination of the annual Christmas Kettle campaign.
  • Support the Program Coordinator and Community Ministries Officer in interactions with community partners as necessary to assist in seeking resources and services for outreach programs.
Administration:
  • Prepare and maintain written records/logs of activities, including activity reports and statistical information.
  • Maintain confidentiality and keep accurate records of client and participant information on Link2Feed.
  • Assist in the maintenance of volunteer files and statistical records as directed.
  • Work with Administrative Assistant and Program Coordinator to draft promotional material that highlights various programs provided by Lloydminster Corps subject to supervisory approval.
  • Participate in the implementation of policies and procedures for specific programming.
Communication:
  • Communicate in an empathetic manner with congregants, families, and staff.
  • Inform the Community Ministries Officer and Program Coordinator regarding any concerns or issues in a timely manner.
Health and Safety:
  • Assist Program Coordinator in maintaining program storage areas.
  • Seek out continual education in food safety and health standards, including maintaining Safe Food Handling Certification.
  • Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army's health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • Completion of a 2-year Community College diploma or certificate.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Certification.
  • Safe Food Handlers Certification.
  • Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.
