About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health Services Manager to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to multi-disciplinary teams within a patient-centred, Collaborative Practice Model for patient care units.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in healthcare leadership, with a proven track record of success in program planning, evaluation, human resource and financial management. You will be a strategic thinker, with excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

You will work collaboratively and consultatively with patients/clients, families, management, staff, physicians, community partners, and service providers to address challenges and achieve the ultimate goal of high-quality, safe, and cost-effective services to better support patient experience/outcome.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in a health-related discipline, current registration with an applicable college related to health degree, and a minimum of 5 years recent clinical experience in a position included in this portfolio. You will also have a minimum of 5 years recent experience in a leadership and/or management position with responsibilities related to program planning, evaluation, human resource and financial management within a unionized environment.

About You
  • Strong background in healthcare leadership
  • Proven track record of success in program planning, evaluation, human resource and financial management
  • Strategic thinker with excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and consultatively with patients/clients, families, management, staff, physicians, community partners, and service providers
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships and collaborative working relationships with a variety of internal and external partners across the healthcare continuum
  • Commitment to employee and self-development and continuous quality improvement
  • Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, internet, email, and the ability to utilize health information systems for decision support
  • Valid Nova Scotia Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours
  • Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
Compensation and Benefits

$45.45 - $60.39 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
