About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychiatric Specialist to join our team in Prince Rupert, British Columbia. As a psychiatrist, you will provide patient assessments and treatment planning, as well as ongoing consultation and education to physicians and mental health teams.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and develop treatment plans tailored to individual needs
  2. Provide expert consultation and education to healthcare professionals on psychiatric care and treatment options
  3. Participate in the provision of area-based continuum of psychiatric services, including assessment and treatment of patients in the regional hospital observation unit
Work Environment

You will be working at the Prince Rupert Regional Hospital, a 25-bed facility offering a range of services, including diagnostics, surgery, emergency care, and rehabilitation programs.

Compensation and Benefits

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary, with estimated annual earnings ranging from $250,000 to $300,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, benefits include:

  • Vacation leave of 6-8 weeks annually
  • CME opportunities and potential for additional remuneration under the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA)
  • Rural Continuing Medical Education (RCME) funding available
  • Relocation funding available, subject to eligibility
