As a Behavioural Support Specialist at Sources Community Resources Society, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and families. Located in Prince Rupert, BC, this role requires a compassionate and organized individual with experience working with children, youth, and families.

We are seeking an experienced Behaviour Analyst to join our Behavioural Support Team. This is an ideal role for an individual working towards their Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) designation as they will be clinically supervised by a BCBA.

About the Role

Reporting to the Program Coordinator of Behaviour Consultation & Support Services, the successful candidate will conduct functional and skill assessments, develop Intervention Plans and Positive Behaviour Support Plans, teach plan implementation, and supervise the implementation of plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct accurate session notes and maintain client files.
  • Attend and participate in regular team meetings.
  • Collect, monitor, and record data to review client progress with analysts and other team members.
  • Develop and teach strategies for program implementation.
  • Assist in overseeing clinical skills of team members.
  • Case management and report writing.
  • Contribute to a strong team environment.
  • Some administration duties may be required.

Program-Specific Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and positive behaviour training sessions for families and monitor support strategies for families of children with developmental disabilities.
  • Conduct intake assessments, ecology assessments, VB-MAPP, functional behavioural assessments, and other assessments as required in multiple environments.
  • Develop Intervention Plans incorporating evidence-based intervention based on assessment data, goals, characteristics, and family ecology.
  • Liaise with other caregivers on the persons served service team.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a human services field (e.g., Special Education, Educational Psychology, Behavioural Sciences).
  • Two years' experience conducting Behaviour Assessments resulting in Intervention Plans or Positive Behaviour Support Plans that incorporate evidence-based intervention in Applied Behaviour Analysis, with people with behaviour challenges.
  • Working towards Board Certified Behaviour Analyst credential through the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
  • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Awareness and agility around people with disabilities and diverse cultures.
  • Effectively utilize Office suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and central data systems.
  • Criminal Records check through the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Records Review Program.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and driver's abstract.
