Dietary Assistant

As a Dietary Aide at Sienna Senior Living, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional care to our residents. Your passion for providing excellent service and your commitment to maintaining a safe and clean environment will make a significant impact on the lives of those we serve.
Key Responsibilities- Follow proper food handling techniques to ensure the highest quality of food service.
- Date, label, and store food properly to maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
- Keep the work area clean and uncluttered, and complete scheduled cleaning duties to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Maintain the cleanliness of floors in the food preparation, dish room, and storage areas.
- Support all aspects of optimal food service to meet the needs of residents in accordance with infection control, quality management, legislative requirements, and organizational standards.
- Assist in the preparation of meals, serving meals and beverages, following residents' diets and food preferences, using proper portion sizes.
- Take orders for the first and second menu choices from residents, following their likes and dislikes.
- Set and clear tables in the dining rooms and wash/sanitize tables, chairs, and serveries.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain a current Safe Food Handler's Certificate.
- Be familiar with the correct procedure for service and handling of food.
- Ability to operate institutional cooking equipment, such as a dishwasher, conveyor toaster, and meat-slicer.
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
- Pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check (applicable to Ontario applicants) and Criminal Records Check (applicable to British Columbia applicants).
