About the Role

This position plays a crucial role in assisting the Store Manager with the day-to-day operation and management of the assigned store. The incumbent will be responsible for providing quality service to employees, customers, and suppliers, ensuring that all responsibilities are performed consistently with the Farm Boy Way.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service while supporting Farm Boy's vision of the best fresh shopping experience.
  • Collaborate with Store Manager, Department Managers, and Retail Specialists to execute strategies aimed at achieving stated goals.
  • Communicate effectively with the team, including one-on-one coaching, huddles, metrics, product knowledge, and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Develop and motivate the team, conducting interviews, training, reviews, coaching, and recognition, while maintaining confidentiality and trust.
  • Promote company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in community events to maintain Farm Boy's community presence.
  • Support the Store Manager in retail operations, including inventory, ordering, item maintenance, quality and rotation, shrink, merchandising, invoicing, scheduling, payroll.
  • Ensure the store is properly protected and opening/closing procedures are conducted timely and appropriately.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A post-secondary education in business or a related field, combined with 5-7 years of progressively responsible managerial experience in retail, preferably in the perishable food industry.
  2. A Public Health Food Handler certification, Smart Serve plus Level A First Aid and Basic CPR certification, or a commitment to complete within 6 months.
  3. Strong knowledge of the retail industry, food products, and quality standards.
  4. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and maintain high performance levels.
  5. Excellent team building and participation skills.
  6. Experience working with various computer software programs, including Microsoft Office.
  7. A flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  8. Fluency in English, with French fluency considered an asset.
  9. Ability to stand and walk for long periods during shifts.
  10. Adaptability to temperature changes during work hours.
Compensation

We offer a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 per year, based on experience, as well as opportunities for career growth and development.
