The Engineering Outreach Manager plays a pivotal role in providing strategic guidance and program development for all engineering outreach programs at Ontario Tech University.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the day-to-day operations of all engineering outreach programs, ensuring effective delivery and assessment.
- Develop and submit funding proposals to secure resources for new, continuing, and expanded outreach programs.
- Provide leadership and support for donor relations and stewardship activities, fostering strong partnerships.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet reporting requirements and ensure compliance with funding agreements.
- Represent the Engineering Outreach unit in outreach partnership committees and memberships, promoting the university's interests.
- Lead Engineering Outreach personnel in developing and delivering programming for elementary and secondary school students and teachers, driving engagement and recruitment.
- Maintain high performance within the Engineering Outreach unit through effective hiring and supervision of staff.
- Coordinate outreach activities related to undergraduate recruitment, ensuring a strong pipeline of future students.
- Develop a clear communication plan and materials to promote outreach programs and activities, enhancing the university's reputation.
- Work with the Faculty Budget Officer to manage the overall Engineering Outreach budget, tracking special accounts and procuring necessary resources.
- Lead and support special projects related to engineering outreach and the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science.
- Supervisory experience with excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interact at all levels within the organization, effectively managing strategic goals.
- Excellent coaching skills to guide and motivate team engagement and development.
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships both inside and outside the organization.
- Well-developed written communication and interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and tact, with a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A minimum of three to five years of related experience in engineering outreach and/or management.
- Previous experience in fundraising, including grant writing and submissions, with a proven track record of securing funds.
- Experience in stewardship of donated funds and personnel supervision within a postsecondary environment.
- A four-year Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
