Nuclear Control Systems Engineer

BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. is a leader in the nuclear industry, providing fuel and components to the CANDU nuclear power industry.
We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Control Systems Engineer for our Peterborough, Ontario site.
This role entails supporting the technical direction for overall projects, including control systems and instrumentation involved within Fuel Handling Systems, other parts of the plant, tooling, medical isotope systems as well as remote delivery machines.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed engineering designs and drawings in compliance with applicable codes & standards.
- Liaise with customers to gather design information and execute walk-downs of equipment in the plant.
- Present technical data to internal and external customers and ensure designs comply with company, technical, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in design reviews and customer review meetings, providing stakeholder input.
- Test complex equipment and systems and review selection of components and equipment.
- Adhere to project commitments and customer success criteria.
- Support proposal development and review.
- Identify project risks and take decisive action to resolve issues.
Requirements:
- B.A.Sc. in Electrical/Instrumentation & Control/Automation or related discipline Engineering.
- Holds or working towards a current PEO license.
- Typically requires 3 years' experience in design engineering in Nuclear, Aerospace, Transportation, Oil and Gas, Mining, or other highly regulated industries.
- Demonstrated ability with supporting leadership on engineering projects over their complete life cycles.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Creative thinking and ability to work in a team environment.
Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
