Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Human Factors Specialist to join our Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineering team in support of on-power refueling systems for CANDU reactors.



Responsibilities:



  • Support the execution of operating experience reviews, functional requirements analysis, task analysis, human error analysis, and make human factors design recommendations, as well as verify and/or accept other Human Factors Specialist work.
  • Assess the required level of Human Factors Engineering involvement based on project scope.
  • Develop Human Factors Engineering Program Plans.
  • Apply knowledge of hardware and software controls, displays, annunciations, and evaluations of interactions between the Human System Interface and the User(s).
  • Document analysis results in Human Factors Engineering Summary Reports.
  • Support the development of Human Factors Engineering Verification and Validation Plans.
  • Perform and document design verification and validation activities.
  • Provide input to the creation of proposals which focus on or include Human Factors Engineering scope.
  • As required, support other engineering deliverables.


Qualifications:



  • Degree in Human Factors Engineering, Engineering Psychology, Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related science with a focus on Human Factors coursework.
  • Experience level: 5+ years, Qualified Human Factors Specialist.
  • P.Eng. or eligibility to obtain in near future.
  • Demonstrable experience in Human Factors Design, in regulated, high consequence industries such as Nuclear, Aerospace, Defense, Oil and Gas, and Medical.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively interface with project team members, vendors, and customers to ensure scope and requirements of the project are understood, and to ensure the project is executed per the project schedule and budget.
