Nurse Researcher in Indigenous Cultural Safety

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our team as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of British Columbia. The successful candidate will hold the newly established Providence Health Care / UBC Professorship in Indigenous Cultural Safety and Nursing.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for developing an independent program of research focused on advancing Indigenous Cultural Safety in Nursing. They will work collaboratively with colleagues across Providence Health Care and the University of British Columbia to ensure that advances developed through their research are applied to nursing and interprofessional practices throughout Providence Health Care sites and provincial and national health systems.
Responsibilities- Develop and lead an independent program of research focused on advancing Indigenous Cultural Safety in Nursing.
- Contribute to teaching, mentorship, and clinical services aligned with the focus of the Professorship.
- Strengthen the relationship between Providence Health Care and the University of British Columbia School of Nursing.
- Advance the leadership of the two organizations to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety and Nursing.
The successful candidate will have practice experience in nursing, a PhD in nursing or a related discipline, and be registered or eligible for registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives. They will have demonstrated potential for excellence in research and teaching, and their program of research should be sustainable with the potential to be scaled and spread across Canada.
