Corporate Accountant Job Description

The Inland Group of Companies, a leading provider of aviation support services, is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Accountant to join its team in Truro, NS.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the finance and accounting operations of the Inland Group, including month-end close and the production of monthly financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and prepare financial statements that comply with Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises;
  • Complete month-end closing and prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Prepare daily bank reconciliations;
  • Provide support to site managers and staff with regards to monthly financial results;
  • Collect and report daily and monthly activity (de-icing events, collection);
  • Assist with preparation for audits and tax returns, as required;
Requirements:
  • Certified Public Accounting designation or working towards Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation preferred;
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in finance, accounting, business administration or relevant post-secondary education and a combination of continuing education and experience;
  • 2+ years of progressive work experience in an accounting role;
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical ability;
  • Above average written and oral communication skill;
  • Intermediate computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs;
  • Ability to self-manage multiple, simultaneous projects on deadline;
