We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Controller to join our team at Inland Technologies Canada Incorporated. As a key member of our accounting operations, you will play a critical role in supporting the accounting functions of the Inland Group, including full cycle accounting, closing month-end, and monthly financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning and management of the month-end close process, including financial statement preparation, consolidation, external reporting, and audits.
  • Manage a team of corporate accountants responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, project accounting, and inventory control.
  • Set team goals and expectations, provide guidance, assistance, training, and development.
  • Assist with the planning and management of the month-end close process.
  • Compile information for tax returns and examine and analyze accounting and financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards and internal controls.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration, or relevant post-secondary education and experience.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in finance/accounting, including supervision of finance/accounting staff.
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting practices and standards.
  • Experience with foreign currency and consolidations is an asset.
  • Ability to quickly learn, interpret information, and transfer knowledge to others.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while achieving outcome expectations.
  • Ability to self-manage multiple projects on deadline.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Open-minded, consultative, and collaborative style.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism.
