About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Project Lead to join our team at Modern Niagara. As a key member of our VDC team, you will be responsible for leading the preparation of construction coordination, interference plans, and developing Engineering Consultant designs into fabricable/installable/coordinated virtual models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement processes to produce cost-effective, optimized coordinated models and distribute content to the project team ahead of schedule.
  • Collaborate with foremen, project managers, construction managers, general contractors, consultants, and other trades to ensure designs conform to applicable standards.
  • Produce detailed fabrication drawings for electrical systems and work closely with foremen and project managers to produce coordination drawings and VDC models.
  • Manage the VDC budget and VDC Designers for assigned projects, ensuring projects meet all VDC requirements set by customers.
  • Lead a team of designers to ensure all work is vetted, optimized, and follows relevant codes, correct consultant mistakes, and agrees with project strategies.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Drafting, or relevant technical diploma, journeyman status, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of extensive, practical, and successful experience in the Electrical trades and construction industries.
  • Proficient in Navisworks, Revit with Fabrication Parts, and AutoCAD.
  • Strong computer skills with hands-on working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and digital scheduling software.
  • Knowledge of construction costs/budgets/schedule and construction process.
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to effectively work with a team.
