About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Project Lead to join our team at Modern Niagara. As a key member of our VDC team, you will be responsible for the preparation of construction coordination, interference plans, and the development of engineering consultant designs into fabricable/installable/coordinated virtual models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of designers to ensure all work is vetted, optimized, and meets project strategies.
  • Develop a process to produce cost-effective, optimized coordinated models and distribute them to the project team.
  • Coordinate with foremen, superintendents, project managers, general contractors, consultants, and other trades.
  • Ensure designs conform to applicable standards and produce detailed fabrication drawings for electrical systems.
  • Work closely with the foreman and project managers to produce coordination drawings and VDC models.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Drafting, or relevant technical diploma, journeyman status, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of extensive, practical, and successful experience in the Electrical trades and construction industries.
  • Proficient in Navisworks, Revit with Fabrication Parts, and AutoCAD.
  • Able to prove ability in resolving/managing multidiscipline coordination.
  • Experience in field installation/trade/code adherence will be highly valued.
  • Strong computer skills with hands-on working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and digital scheduling software.
  • Knowledge of construction costs/budgets/schedule and construction process.
  • Strong understanding of submittal process, RFI writing, and tactics focused on implementing design changes.
  • Strong written & communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to effectively work with a team.
  • Willingness to commit to continuous learning.
  • Detail oriented and ability to work within tight timelines, and ensure team stays ahead of critical path with excellent time and project management skills.
  • Resourceful, well organized, and energetic with an ability to effectively set and manage competing priorities.
  • Sense of urgency and drive to succeed, must be comfortable working within a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.
