Field Service Diesel Technician-Mining Specialist

Job Summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking a skilled Field Service Diesel Technician to join our team at an underground mining site in Northern Manitoba. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing underground mining equipment, including scoops, haul trucks, drills, and other Cummins-powered equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and complete less complex repairs to Cummins products at a single customer's site.
  • Engage customers in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring prompt and efficient attention to their needs.
  • Apply specialized tools and follow documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
  • Coach customers on preventative maintenance activities and basic repairs completed by customer employees.
  • Evaluate and escalate unresolved issues to more experienced On-Site Technicians and/or Supervisor.
  • Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality documents.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation.

Requirements:

  • Red Seal Heavy Duty Technician certification.
  • Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution.
  • Current relevant electrical certification (optional).
  • Locally valid driving permit.
