Heavy Duty Mining Equipment Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Duty Mining Equipment Specialist to join our team in Northern Manitoba. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy-duty equipment maintenance, with a focus on underground mining operations.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various pieces of equipment, including scoops, haul trucks, drills, and other Cummins-powered machinery.

You will work independently at an underground mine site, ensuring that all aspects of equipment maintenance are completed efficiently and safely. This includes OEM repairs and services, as well as preventive maintenance activities.

In this role, you will make an impact by:

  • Providing technical support and completing less complex repairs to Cummins products
  • Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner
  • Applying specialized tools and following documented procedures to diagnose and complete repairs
  • Couching customers on preventative maintenance activities and basic repairs
  • Escalating unresolved issues to more experienced technicians or supervisors
  • Completing required documentation, such as service worksheets and timesheets
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area, as well as ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

Education and Certifications:

Red seal heavy duty technician certification

Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution

Current relevant electrical certification (optional)

Lovally valid driving permit

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Minimum level of workshop related experience required

Basic knowledge of Cummins products and experience with high voltage/low voltage systems (optional)

Current and relevant Cummins engine diagnostics and repair experience would be an asset

Computer/web-based diagnostic skills and abilities are essential

What We Offer:

A competitive base salary rate commensurate with experience: $70,000 - $90,000 per year
