Open Pit Mining Equipment Technician

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Diesel Technician to join our team at an open pit mining site in Northern Ontario.
Cummins is looking for a safety-conscious, self-starting technician with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
This role requires supporting all aspects of equipment maintenance, including OEM repairs and services, on a 7-day schedule with 7 days off.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing open pit mining equipment, such as haul trucks, front-end loaders, hydraulic face shovels, and other Cummins-powered machinery.
A key aspect of this position is providing technical support to customers, diagnosing and completing less complex repairs to Cummins products at their site.
Key responsibilities include engaging customers professionally, anticipating and addressing their needs promptly and efficiently.
Applicants must have experience with specialized tools and procedures, as well as basic repair skills and preventative maintenance activities.
Additional requirements include escalating unresolved issues, completing documentation, adhering to health and safety policies, and ensuring a clean and organized work area.
To be successful in this role, applicants should possess relevant certifications, licenses, or diplomas in power generation and/or engine technology.
The ideal candidate will have workshop-related experience, basic knowledge of Cummins products, and high voltage/low voltage experience (optional).
Computer-based diagnostic skills and online training provided, with opportunities for professional growth and development.
Salary: Estimated $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
