Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health Care Assistant to join our team at Baille House. As a Health Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing person-centered care to our residents, promoting their independence, dignity, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including toileting, bathing, skin care, grooming, dressing, and personal laundry.
  • Participate in the organization and implementation of leisure activities, encouraging resident participation and informing residents, families, and volunteers of daily plans.
  • Make tea, coffee, toast, and assist residents who require help with their dining experience.
  • Perform procedures such as taking temperature and weight as directed, and obtain laboratory specimens.
  • Utilize mechanical aids to transfer and position residents in comfortable and therapeutic body positions.
  • Provide input on the effectiveness of programs and routines, and make suggestions for changes and new programs to the interdisciplinary team.
Requirements
  • Grade 10, graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant Program, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Food Safety Certificate Level 1.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to deal with others effectively.
  • Ability to teach, organize work, and operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
