Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Pediatric Nurse Specialist to join our Women's and Children's Health team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for assessing patients from infancy to adolescence, providing education and support to parents and families, and facilitating discharge planning. You will work independently with strong clinical decision-making skills and contribute to ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
This is a full-time position working 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, and weekends. The physical demands of the role may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
The successful candidate will have a current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses in Ontario as a Registered Nurse in good standing, a diploma or baccalaureate degree in Nursing, BCLS certification within the last two years, and Neonatal Resuscitation course completion within the past two years.
- Two years of pediatric experience, including pediatric physical assessment skills.
- Able to function independently in all pediatric situations.
- Strong medical and surgical knowledge base and evidence of ability to apply those skills in a pediatric environment.
- Successful completion of a recognized Breastfeeding Certificate Program within the past two years.
Candidates with previous experience in patient safety and quality initiatives, working effectively in a multidisciplinary team, and demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders will be preferred. Experience with Meditech is an asset.
