Job Summary

This part-time position involves working 12-hour shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays. The registered nurse will provide direct care to patients within the framework of the Registered Nurse. They will work in collaboration with and interact with all members of the Intensive Care Unit multidisciplinary team and other personnel.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care to patients within the framework of the Registered Nurse.
  • Work in collaboration with and interact with all members of the Intensive Care Unit multidisciplinary team and other personnel.
  • Demonstrate professional responsibility and be accountable for own practice, demonstrating actions consistent with hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses in Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Nurse in good standing required.
  • Diploma or Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required.
  • Two (2) years' of current experience in ICU required.
  • BCLS, ACLS required.
  • Certifications for ECG, defibrillation, intravenous certification, IV medication, epidural, and pulmonary artery monitoring required.
  • Critical Care Program certificate required.
  • Excellent physical assessment skills required.
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal) essential.
  • Problem-solving ability and crisis intervention skills required.
  • Keyboarding skills and knowledge of Meditech and OmniCell would be a definite asset.
