As an experienced Operations Supervisor, you will lead our dynamic team of Powerline Technicians in delivering efficient, reliable electric service to our communities. This role is pivotal in ensuring operational excellence, safety, and customer satisfaction within our electric distribution network.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing daily operations of the electric distribution network, ensuring reliability and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Leading, mentoring, and managing a team of powerline technicians and team leads, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Navigating labour relations with a sound understanding of collective agreement and effective management within a unionized work environment.
  • Coordinating maintenance, construction, and emergency response activities, optimizing resource allocation and scheduling to meet operational targets and customer needs.
  • Implementing operational strategies and action plans to enhance efficiency, reliability, and service quality.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with community stakeholders, customers, and regulatory bodies, representing ATCO Electric in a professional manner.
  • Monitoring and managing operational budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met.
  • Conducting regular safety audits and training sessions, ensuring all operations comply with company policies, industry standards, and legislative requirements.
  • Utilizing data-driven insights to inform decision-making and operational improvements.
  • Responding effectively to emergencies, coordinating resources and communication to mitigate impact and swiftly restore service.

Requirements include:

  • Journeyperson Powerline Technician (PLT), related Technology Diploma, or Post-secondary degree.
  • Proven experience in utility operations, electrical engineering, or a related field, with a strong preference for experience in electric distribution.
  • Years of experience in a leadership role, with experience managing teams in a technical or operational environment.
  • Knowledge of electrical utility regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
  • Valid Alberta driver's license and willingness to travel within the service area as needed.
