We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Nurse Specialist to join our community outreach team. Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial and ongoing mental health assessments, including risk assessments and crisis interventions.
  • Develop comprehensive treatment plans that address the unique needs and goals of each client.
  • Provide direct nursing care to clients, including administration of medications, wound care, and other treatments as required.
  • Collaborate with interprofessional care teams to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client assessments, care plans, and progress.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices in mental health care.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:
  • A degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing from an approved institution.
  • At least two years of recent experience providing treatment services to individuals with mental health and/or concurrent disorders.
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage.

What We Offer
