Chief Financial Operations Director

We are seeking an experienced Executive Director of Finance & CFO to lead our finance, payroll, and procurement teams. This is a regular, full-time position commencing January 1, 2025, with a salary in accordance with the Administrative Staff and Benefit Program.

ResponsibilitiesThe Executive Director of Finance & CFO will be responsible for:
- Providing leadership, strategic planning, advice, and technical expertise to the College's Executive Leadership and Leadership Teams and Selkirk College Board of Governors.
- Ensuring sound administrative policies and procedures are in place to safeguard assets and ensure that work requirements are discharged in a timely and efficient manner.
- Overseeing the provision of common services for the College, including mail, insurance, printing, and banking services.
- Responsible for ensuring the College's assets are properly managed, tendered, and inventory records are maintained.
- Participating in the recruitment, supervision, and evaluation of staff necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the Executive Director of Finance & CFO.
The Executive Director of Finance & CFO will be responsible for:
- Ensuring financial accounting systems are in place, in accordance with Provincial, Federal, and other government Acts and Regulations, and generally accepted accounting and auditing principles and standards.
- Developing appropriate policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure systems and controls consistent with Public Sector Accounting Standards are in place and observed.
- College-wide cash flow management and investments for the College and the Selkirk College Foundation.
The Executive Director of Finance & CFO will be responsible for:
- Ensuring all financial reporting requirements for the foundation are complied with.
- Working with the Vice-President, President, and Advancement Team to develop sound investment policies that ensure the ongoing protection of foundation assets.
- Oversight of investment management with the Foundation's designated investment manager.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- An extensive knowledge of public sector budget development processes, financial reporting, financial regulations, controls, and procedures.
- A working knowledge of inter-provincial and federal trade agreements.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective, informed leadership to a diverse administrative, faculty, and staff group within a multi-union environment.
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related discipline.
- An accounting designation (CPA).
- An MBA, MAcc, or MPAcc designation would be a desirable asset.
This is a regular, full-time (100%) position with benefits, including:

The salary for this position is $116,941, which falls between the minimum and control/mid-point Grid Level 15.
