Job Summary

The Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Coordinator, Advancement and Communications. This position will play a key role in supporting the Club's fundraising efforts, creating engaging content, and providing administrative support to the Advancement Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and execution of annual giving tactics, special events, and marketing and communications efforts.
  • Provide administrative support to the Advancement Team, including data entry, reporting, and donor stewardship.
  • Collaborate with the Major Gifts team to identify, research, and cultivate prospects for increased annual funds and major gift giving.
  • Develop and execute a content calendar for all digital properties, including the Club's website, social media channels, and e-newsletter.
  • Design and create engaging content, including text, images, and videos, to highlight the Club's programs, day-to-day operations, and Member and staff stories.
  • Monitor site traffic and sources to optimize web presence and Search Engine Optimization habits.
  • Assist in the execution of marketing and communications campaigns, working collaboratively with the Advancement Team, BGCO staff, and volunteers.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in marketing, fundraising, communications, or a related field.
  • One to two years of previous experience in a charity or non-for-profit agency, ideally with Annual Fund knowledge.
  • Advanced English communications skills, including excellent writing and editing.
  • Demonstrated administrative competencies.
  • A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Current Police Record Check (vulnerable sector).
