Animal Care Attendant

About the Role:
The BC SPCA is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Animal Care Attendant to join our team at our shelter in Burnaby, BC. As a key member of our animal care team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and attention to the animals in our shelter, ensuring their health and well-being, and supporting our front office staff in a courteous and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality care to animals in the shelter, including feeding, cleaning, and administering medications as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to maintain a clean and safe environment for animals and staff.
- Assist with adoption procedures, including preparing animals for adoption and providing information to potential adopters.
- Support front office staff with administrative tasks, such as answering phones and responding to emails.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class N or 5 BC Driver's License and driver's abstract.
- Demonstrable interest in animal welfare and a commitment to providing exceptional care to animals.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software and systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
